catering to every class of eccentric, nonconformist, and oddball!
Bleary-eyed men and faded women, who drink vile liquor, smoke offensive tobacco,
engage in vulgar dancing, and sing obscene songs, are there…
The petty thief, the tramp, the sailor, the politician,
the whoremonger, lewd women, cutthroats, and crimps, are there…
Low gambling-houses thronged with rowdies in all stages of intoxication,
opium dens where the heathers and god-forsaken are sprawled in miscellaneous confusion,
disgustingly drowsy or completely overcome, are there…
Both poverty and wealth, licentiousness, debauchery,
dissipation, blasphemy, and death, are there…
And yes, Hell –yawning to receive them all- is there also!”
